A Child Allowance Pilot in Flint, MI

Rx Kids is a transformational effort to address child poverty and child health. Consistent with practices in other countries, and increasingly in other American cities, Rx Kids seeks to address a fundamental and structural cause of health disparities through the provision of unconditional monthly cash allowances to Flint kids in early childhood. Project scope and start date will be dependent on funds garnered.

A powerful, life-saving medicine was brutally yanked away from millions of kids this year with the expiration of the expanded Child Tax Credit, which temporarily lifted nearly 3 million children out of poverty, a record drop. Since then, millions of children have fallen back. In the last weeks of the 117th session, Congress should prescribe the return of the expanded Child Tax Credit.
